Cascina Monluè

From an ancient medieval abbey agricultural complex to a modern social inclusion center—this is the transformation journey undertaken through the restoration and rehabilitation project promoted by Impresa Sociale Cascina Monluè, in the province of Milan. The entire 3,700-square-meter complex was redeveloped both in terms of landscape and functionality, with the authorization of the Archaeological, Fine Arts and Landscape Authority.

The philosophy guiding this intervention is based on a careful and respectful conservation-focused restoration approach. The goal is to recover and preserve the original aesthetic, formal, and structural elements of the building, keeping the historical and cultural identity of the site alive. At the same time, the spaces have been made more functional to meet contemporary needs.

The heating system was implemented using VARMO FORM radiant panels by General Fittings, with a thickness of 42 mm, equipped with 17 mm PERT piping laid at a 10 cm spacing, ensuring optimal thermal comfort and efficient installation. Heat distribution is managed through ODINO 6500.H6 brass manifolds, selected for their reliability and long-term durability.

This project stands as a significant example of how the restoration of historical heritage can be successfully combined with social objectives and sustainability.
