Tirana stadium
The Air Albania Stadium is a modern sports venue located in the heart of Tirana, the capital of Albania, inaugurated on November 17, 2019, on the occasion of the UEFA European Championship qualifiers. The stadium is a multifunctional facility, and its architectural design stands out for a rectangular plan composed of eight facets, in which private areas—such as the hotel tower and commercial spaces—are clearly separated from the areas dedicated to stadium spectators.
The interior features an innovative design inspired by the forms of a Roman theatre. The seating tiers echo the structure of the cavea, while the fourth side of the building, which houses the hotel, creates a dramatic backdrop that enhances the overall visual experience. This fusion of architecture and functionality is further emphasized by a complex system of geometries, with precise integration among the various design disciplines, including structural engineering, building services, and specialized technological solutions.
The HVAC systems (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) were implemented using high-quality brass fittings and distribution systems supplied by General Fittings. The selected products ensure optimal performance in terms of user comfort and efficient management of the facility’s different areas.
